"I am running for the House of Representatives as a Democrat because the supermajority of Republicans in the legislature has become out of touch with their constituents. Instead of freedom and small government, they now want to tell us what to read, what our children can read, what our teachers can teach, and they want to make medical decisions for families. I get the strong sense that many in the legislature feel that they know what is good for us, no matter what we think as their constituents. It is time for change, move on from divisive social issues, and bring some balance back to Bismarck."
